Allison: It's not connecting.
Me: That's cause it has to connect first.
Allison: Of course, Janae. It has to connect first. *snickering and laughter all around*
Me: *eyeroll at self* Well hello Captain Obvious.
Feeling better today and contributing it to the...
For CarolAnne
Like the leaves of autumn and the coffee in my hands Your silent words bring comfort to my soul Your silent reassurance rising with the dawn You will be there. Always.
Like this cold weather and the wool scarf around my neck Your silent love brings comfort to my soul Your silent steadfastness rising with the moon. You will be there. Always.
Like the blooming daffodils and the cotton on my...

An Event
So my lovely friend Danielle called me last night wanting to know if she could pick me up and just hang out today. I was all like, sure! I’d love to!
So today, after church, we changed into some jeans and VOILA. She surprises me with taking me to get manicures and pedicures. It should be made known that I have NEVER experience a manicure, although thanks to my lovely sister in law, Lori, I...

Oh heavens. Now I feel flattered in kind. :D Miss you and I plan to write soon. Hopefully after all this moving is over. And I shall finally find a decent (and existing) vanilla undertow in the great GA. Hope your adventures in the Great City are simply marvelous.

When you’re homeschooled, stuff follows you around. Most normal people get asked a lot of questions at some point in their lives. Homeschooled people get asked more questions than other people, and also a lot of the same ones over again.
Lots of people think it would be cool to be homeschooled…
And even though I...

The vileness of poor eyesight
So the other day I had to visit my optometrist. I get these headaches when my vision starts to get worse and the head aches just refuse to go away, despite any medication (or other remedies) that I use in order to relieve it.
‘Sides, I’m heading to GA in another week, so I wanted to clear up any problems before I left.
So off I go to the eye doctor, knowing I’ll most likely...

Happy Birthday William Wilberforce
weareallpsyche:
“To speak of Wilberforce is to speak of biblical worldview in action… He could not stand idly by and see the imago Dei of each person, the image of God, abused.
-Chuck Colson
This is the 250th anniversary of Mr. Wilberforce’s birthday. I have a growing crush on this incredible man.
Oh so ditto.

SEE? SEE!?! SEE!?!?!? *points below*
It’s beautiful when you can find lovely little snippets like this on the internet and know you’re not the only person using Pride and Prejudice to describe how you’re feeling. Even if it’s not awkward at the moment.
It’s still beautiful. *grabby hands*

New monasticism: Could this be it?
I’ve always been one to be driven by my passions and concern for others, but often struggled with how to use that passion. I’ve made missions ministries, helped in small groups, volunteered my time with charities, but all along I couldn’t find a way to implement the things I love into a way of serving the Lord.
I thought I had found my calling, and mayhaps it still is, to impact the secular media...

Once again, my writerly friends and I are doing interviews with each other about different writing topics. So what is the topic this time? Crying. That’s right my friends, crying.
WARNING: This post includes spoilers to (A. My book (B. the awesome movie Bright Star. You have been forewarned.
So what elements of a story make you cry? Weeeeeeeel. As a girl, love often can pull at the...

Theology, rants, and soapboxes. And the...
*tugs at hair* I hate choosing sides. <_< But this has been a topic I’ve debated so much I thought I’d just throw a little something out there. When I asked my youth pastor (hereafter referred to as Chad) what he thought of this, he made an interesting point. Whether or not I choose to believe in predistiantion or free will, in the end God is GOD. If He wants one or the other,...

An interview I stole from myself.
So the other day as I swam in the pool with my dear Mumsie, I began to talk about critiquing, which lead to revelations in stories, which lead to analogies, which lead to perfect endings that bring us hope and satisfaction.
And then I go get on my writers forum and they’re having a discussion about story beginnings and endings.
I’m always lamenting on how I have these rants at Mom...

weareallpsyche asked: I think I'd have to say you are a soy chai tea latte with a single shot. I know it sounds kinda weird, chai tea and espresso, but it's surprisingly good, and has more flavor and caffeine than either one by itself. Soy milk adds richness and vanilla - giving an overall sweetness. An eclectic mix of flavors. Appealing to both tea and coffee lovers. The chai adds a kick of spicy too. Your a...
